Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) was conducted by Anna University previously. But from the few years there will be no entrance exam for admission in various engineering colleges. The candidates will get the admission on the basis of their class XII percentage. The candidates who are meeting the eligibility criteria will be eligible for the undergraduate courses offered by the various engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu. In this article we are providing the information about TNEA 2018.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates have to check their eligibility first and then proceed to fill the application form. The TNEA eligibility criteria are given here:

General Eligibility:

  • Candidates, those belong to the Tamil Nadu state & complete their 10+2 education from the state is eligible.
  • Candidates, those don’t belong to the Tamil Nadu state, but pass their 10+2 education from the state can apply.
  • Native candidate of Tamil Nadu who passes their 10+2 examination from another state can also apply but they have to submit a valid nativity certificate.
  • Children of central government employees can also apply for the admission process. They have to show their parents/guardians native certificates who have been serving in Tamil Nadu for last five years continuously.
  • Daughters & Son of All India Service Tamil Nadu Cadre Officers can also apply for this exam.

Age Criteria:

  • Age Limit:Candidate’s age should be not less than 18 years & not exceed 25 years.
  • Relaxation:There is an age relaxation for the reserved category as per the university rules.

Qualification Criteria:

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates have to complete their 10+2 or equivalent examination with PCM as a compulsory subject from a recognized board.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates have to score 50% marks (General Category), 45% marks (OBC Category) & 40% marks (MBC, DNC, SC, ST & SCA Category).

How to Apply:

The admission into engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu will be based on class 12th Percentage. Candidates, those scores good marks in 10+2 examination, the priority will be given to them. On the basis of 12th percentage, the authority will release rank list. The TNEA Results/rank list will be published in the 4th week of June 2018. Candidates will get admission in the engineering Institution on the basis of the merit list.

TNEA 2018 Counselling:

The counselling of TNEA 2018 will be carried out according to merit and category-wise reservation of seats. Higher ranked candidates will be called for counselling of TNEA 2018 first and have more options to choose from. Candidates can pick their choices of branches and colleges from the available options at the time of counselling. Counselling will be held in offline mode and the candidate has to be present in person. If the candidate is unable to attend counselling for some unavoidable reasons, the parent of the candidate is allowed to attend counselling on behalf of the candidate.

Candidates who get shortlisted for counselling of TNEA 2018 have to pay the counselling fee either through Cash or DD. On the day of counselling, the candidate must also bring along originals of all relevant documents.

Admission Procedure:

Admission to all undergraduate courses ie. Bachelors in Engineering (B.E.) are carried out through the single window system of the Anna University. Students can choose the courses based upon the state-wise rank calculated by their marks in Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Department of Education, Government of TamilNadu.

Reservations are provided for BC/MBC/DNC/SC/ST etc as per the rules of the Government of TamilNadu.

B.Arch Degree Admission:

Candidates having passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination with 50% marks as aggregate. , having Mathematics as a subject of study and obtained 80 marks out of 200 in NATA(National Aptitude Test for Architecture) test in any one of the attempt.

SRMJEE Main 2018 Admit Card:

The admit card of SRMJEEE 2018 will be available from last week of March to first week of April 2018. In order to be able to download their SRMJEEE 2018 admit card, the candidates have to book their slots. Immediately after booking SRMJEEE 2018 slots, they will be able to download their SRMJEEE 2018 admit cards. SRMJEEE 2018 admit card is an important document and all candidates are advised not to forget to carry their admit cards to the test centres, as no candidate will be allowed to take the exam without a valid admit card of SRMJEEE 2018. SRMJEEE 2018 Hall Ticket carries the candidate’s name, photograph and address and also the address of the exam centre allotted to the candidate and exam schedule. Candidates have to downloaded the admit card and take its printout, which further needs to be taken to the exam centre on the exam day. About the Exam:

Engineering Entrance Examination. It is a National level exam conducted for admissions to the undergraduate engineering courses across 4 campuses of the SRM University. This national level engineering entrance exam will be held online, in  April, 2018. SRM University will conduct SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) 2018 for granting admissions to nearly 7,000 undergraduate engineering seats across its four campuses- Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Ramapuram Part- Vadapalani and NCR Ghaziabad. Candidates will be given admissions to B.Tech programmes on the basis of their SRMJEEE 2018 performance.

 Eligibility Criteria:

Candidate must have secured 65% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry.

For biotechnology, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics and genetic engineering, minimum 65% aggregate in Mathematics / Biology, Physics and Chemistry is required. Candidate should have  Indian nationality.

About Us:

Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology (ACCET-Karaikudi) is an autonomous (with effect from 2009) college of engineering in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu,India. Established in 1952, it is under the control of the government of the State. The college is a member institute under the TEQIP – Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme in India (11 colleges were selected from Tamil Nadu).R.M.Alagappa Chettiar founded Alagappa Chettiar Educational Trust with the aim of developing the backward area of Karaikudi into a centre for higher education.

On 21 July 1952 ACCET started with three faculties – Civil, Mechanical and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The foundation for the main building of the college was laid by Rajendra Prasad, the President of India, on 19 February 1953.The institution has been awarded the status of the best engineering college of 2006-07 in Tamil Nadu. Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi honoured the Principal in a function at Anna University, Chennai, on 1 September 2008 for this cause. The college is now affiliated to Anna University,Chennai from 2012. Amenities like Canteen, PostOffice are available.

Facilities:

NRSC building:

The Non Resident Students Centre Building was declared open on 27 March 1981 for the benefit of day scholars. It houses a couple of spacious dining halls with furniture. A room for the students association and a few guest rooms are also available in the NRSC Building.

Hostel Facility:

The college also offers separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls.Hostel Blocks are situated around College Campus.In order to avoid ragging problem separate hostels for all years are available with watchman available for the whole day

Sports and games:

The college offers facilities for outdoor and indoor games such as cricket, hockey, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, tennis and table tennis and chess. There is a 400 m track for athletics and the necessary equipment for jumps, throws, power lifting and body building. The membership of the tennis club is open to staff and students of the college. An indoor stadium and gymnasium are also available.To promote sports among the students every year intra-college sports meet is being conducted.The sports meet “SPIRITUZ-Intensely spirited” is to be held during March 2015.The 2015 sports meet was won by “MARCELLAZ” (2011 – 2015) final year batch.

Medical Facilities:

A dispensary is functioning in the hostel campus with an attached in-patient ward to accommodate students and staff in case of illness. The unit is under the charge of a part-time medical officer assisted by a pharmacist. The dispensary functions during forenoon session on all weekdays except Sunday.

Auditorium:

The college auditorium (Dewan Bahadur Murugappa Hall) is the college auditorium seating a capacity of 600. It also has a spacious stage for conducting cultural programmes and entertainment.

Post office:

Alagappa Engineering College Post Office is located in the college campus. You can avail postal services just in a few steps of walking.

Bank:

You can avail SBI ATM facility in CECRI shopping complex near the campus. Indian Bank along with ATM facility is also situated near the college campus. ICICI bank along with ATM facility is reachable in a few metres in College Road.

Placements:

The Department of Placement and Training is an elemental section of the Institute and is supervised by a Placement Officer, who is in-charge of all the activities to be taken over in the Placement Cell. The Placement Officer is aided by four Placement Coordinators, one from the final year of each department, who are elected based on their proficiency and expertise. The students are trained in placement perspective right from their sixth semester and are constantly put through various kinds of tests which shape them up to face the placement interview process in total confidence and buoyancy. It is the sole duty of the Placement Officer to not only ensure that the students are trained to get acclimatized to an Industrial environment but also to cope with and be competent enough to face such an ambience.

Many corporate companies are visiting regularly for campus interview. First time in the history of ACCET 2004-08 batch Civil Engineering students achieved 100% campus placement.The college shows keen interest in students getting exposed to industries. It has signed MoUs with “FLSMIDTH” and “CARITOR” and has great vision to extend its relationship with other industries. ECE department of our college has signed MoU with companies like “VI MICROSYSTEM”, “ENIXS”, “IFUTURA”.

Admission Procedure:

  • The original entry qualification of HSC/ Diploma Certificate or Degree or Provisional Certificate and a copy attested by the Gazetted Officer. (Original Certificates will be returned immediately after verification).
  • Student Index Card with a stamp size photo and signature affixed.
  • The candidate has to submit two Demand Drafts separately towards Course Fees.
  • One Demand Draft in favour of the Director, DDE, Alagappa University, payable at Karaikudi towards the University Share, and another Demand Draft in favour of the Study Centre.
  • The above Two Demand Drafts should be submitted to the Study Centre along with the filled-in Application.
  • No Transfer Certificate is required for admission to any of the Courses. The Directorate will also not issue any Transfer Certificate. However, a ‘Course Completion Certificate’ may be issued for those candidates who apply for it.

VITEEE 2018  Result:

VITEEE 2018 Result will be announced in April 2018 (tentative). VIT University will declare its result using Equipercentile Equating Method. To know VITEEE 2017 Result, candidates should have to log in using their VITEEE 2018 Application Number and Date of Birth. 

VITEEE 2018 Counselling:

VITEEE 2018 Counselling for admissions to campuses of VIT University will be held tentatively in second and third week of May, 2018. Candidates will be short-listed based on their VITEEE 2018 marks and will be called for the counselling.

 About the Exam:

The Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination is known as VITEEE. VITEEE 2018 will be held in April 2018 for granting admissions to various undergraduate engineering programmes in its two campuses, Chennai and Vellore.  VIT University will conduct VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE2018.  There are nearly 5,000 B.Tech seats for which around two lakh candidates register and appear every year.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants  should have secured an aggregate of 60 %  in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate)
  • The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50 per cent for the SC/ST and North Eastern State
  • Applicants  who have studied in regular, full time and formal education are also eligible to apply
  • ‘NIOS’ candidates are eligible to appear for the VITEEE-2018
  • The Applicants   whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1995 are eligible toapply for VITEEE-2018.

VITEEE 2018 Application Form (online and offline) will be available from November, 2017 onwards. All the correspondence including centre booking and issue of e-admit card details will be through email only. So, the applicants must get ready with valid email id and mobile number for contact.

Offline Application Fee – 990/-

Offline Application Form will be available in selected Head Post Offices.

Syllabus:

VITEEE 2018 Syllabus will be mostly from the State Board of Higher Secondary Education and the CBSE syllabus only. VITEEE 2018 Syllabus for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be available at VITEEE official website.
