About the Admission Procedure:

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) was conducted by Anna University previously. But from the few years there will be no entrance exam for admission in various engineering colleges. The candidates will get the admission on the basis of their class XII percentage. The candidates who are meeting the eligibility criteria will be eligible for the undergraduate courses offered by the various engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu. In this article we are providing the information about TNEA 2018.

Candidates have to check their eligibility first and then proceed to fill the application form. The TNEA eligibility criteria are given here:

General Eligibility:

  • Candidates, those belong to the Tamil Nadu state & complete their 10+2 education from the state is eligible.
  • Candidates, those don’t belong to the Tamil Nadu state, but pass their 10+2 education from the state can apply.
  • Native candidate of Tamil Nadu who passes their 10+2 examination from another state can also apply but they have to submit a valid nativity certificate.
  • Children of central government employees can also apply for the admission process. They have to show their parents/guardians native certificates who have been serving in Tamil Nadu for last five years continuously.
  • Daughters & Son of All India Service Tamil Nadu Cadre Officers can also apply for this exam.

Age Criteria:

  • Age Limit:Candidate’s age should be not less than 18 years & not exceed 25 years.
  • Relaxation:There is an age relaxation for the reserved category as per the university rules.

Qualification Criteria:

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates have to complete their 10+2 or equivalent examination with PCM as a compulsory subject from a recognized board.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates have to score 50% marks (General Category), 45% marks (OBC Category) & 40% marks (MBC, DNC, SC, ST & SCA Category).

When filling the application form of TNEA 2018, care must be taken to enter only genuine information. The TNEA application form 2018 will include fields like education details and personal details. Also, when uploading any documents, the candidate must conform to the prescribed format.

TNEA Merit List:

The admission into engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu will be based on class 12th Percentage. Candidates, those scores good marks in 10+2 examination, the priority will be given to them. On the basis of 12th percentage, the authority will release rank list. The TNEA Results/rank list will be published in the 4th week of June 2018. Candidates will get admission in the engineering Institution on the basis of the merit list.

TNEA 2018 Counselling:

The counselling of TNEA 2018 will be carried out according to merit and category-wise reservation of seats. Higher ranked candidates will be called for counselling of TNEA 2018 first and have more options to choose from. Candidates can pick their choices of branches and colleges from the available options at the time of counselling. Counselling will be held in offline mode and the candidate has to be present in person. If the candidate is unable to attend counselling for some unavoidable reasons, the parent of the candidate is allowed to attend counselling on behalf of the candidate.

VTUEEE 2018 Result:

The result of Phase 1 of VTUEEE 2018 will be announced by VTU on February 15, 2018 and Phase 2 of VTUEEE 2018 will be announced by May 4, 2018 . VTUEEE 2018 result will have ranks of the candidates who will appear in the entrance examination for admissions to B.Tech programmes in VTU, Chennai. In order to check their result of VTUEEE 2018, the examinees have to enter their VTUEEE 2018 application number and VTUEEE 2017 roll number. Qualifying candidates will have to participate in VTUEEE 2018 counselling for admissions.

VTUEEE 2018 Counselling:

The Counselling of VTUEEE 2018 will tentatively be conducted from the first week of May 2017 till the second week of May 2018. VTUEEE 2018 application form is available on October 5, 2017. The application forms of VTUEEE 2018 can be filled online and offline for both the phases – Phase 1 and Phase 2.  Eligibility Criteria:

VTUEEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria gives aspiring candidates the details about all eligibility conditions set by VTU, based on which the aspirants will be considered eligible to apply for VTUEEE 2018. Eligibility Criteria related to Nationality

  • Candidates applying for VTUEEE 2018 must be of Indian origin.
  • Non-resident Indians can also apply in VTUEEE 2018.
  • Candidates of foreign origin cannot appear in VTUEEE 2018.
  • For the purpose of consideration for award of the Veltech Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarship, the State from which the candidate has studied and appeared for the qualifying examination (class XII or equivalent examination of the state or central board) will be taken as the state to which the candidate belongs, even though the nativity of the candidate may be another state/Union Territory.

Qualifying Exam related Eligibility

  • Aspirants should have passed class XII from any state board/CBSE,New Delhi/CISCE, New Delhi/National Institute of Open School/Intermediate or two year Pre-University exam conducted by a recognized Board or University/High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or equivalent.
  • They should have passed class XII with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Mathematics/Biology as optional subject.
  • Candidates pursuing their 12thor equivalent examination in March/April/May 2018 can also apply for VTUEEE 2018.
  • Candidates belonging to Jammu and Kashmir and The North Eastern states of Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will have to produce Nativity Certificates at the time of admission.

Age Criteria

  • Aspirants appearing in VTUEEE 2018 must be less than 25 years of age.
  • The candidates belonging to Physically Challenged (PC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC) will get a relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit.
  • The exam conducting authority may give age relaxation of up to six months in specific cases.
  • The university will only consider Secondary Education Board/University certificate as proof of date of birt

Exam Pattern:

The Exam Pattern of VTUEEE 2018 is set by the exam conducting body, VTU. VTUEEE 2018 Exam Pattern reflects details about the sections basis which the paper is set. VTUEEE 2018 question paper will have questions from 3 sections – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The total number of questions in VTUEEE 2018 is 100. The sectional distribution of questions in the exam pattern of VTUEEE 2018 includes 25 questions from Physics, 25 questions from Chemistry and 50 questions from Mathematics. The duration of VITUEEE 2018 will be 2.5 hours. 1 mark is awarded for correct answer, while there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
