The Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, known as SASTRA University, is a deemed university in the town of Thirumalaisamudram, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. Undergraduate and postgraduate engineering courses are its focus. It offers undergraduate and post graduate courses in Engineering, Science, Education, Management and Arts.
SASTRA University started in 1984 in the form of Shanmugha College of Engineering, affiliated to the Bharathidasan University, Trichy. In 2001 it was renamed as Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy. It was the first institution to get the ‘Deemed University status’ in Tamil Nadu. Srinivasa Ramanujam Center at Kumbakonam is affiliated to it.In 2011, software company Tata Consultancy Services set a world record of recruiting 1,755 students from SASTRA, the largest recruitment by any company in the world from a single campus.
The campus occupies a built up area of over 2,000,000 square feet (190,000 m2)and houses a population of over 13,000 students.The institute has nine boys hostels and five girls hostels providing accommodation to over 5000 boys and 3000 girls. There are facilities for sports and body building. There are 30 rooms with all basic amenities catering to the needs of the visitors.
The entire campus is networked with a 1 GB fibre-optic cable and is Wi-Fi enabled to provide wireless access to the 366 Mbit/s internet leased line for the students and faculty. Campus-wide wireless connectivity has been implemented at a cost of over Rs. 35 lakhs providing a wire-less seamless internet connectivity to anybody and anywhere in the campus. Important lectures are recorded using the Tegrity cart and is uploaded in the server & also maintained in the library for use by all the stakeholders. Students and faculty members are provided with Network Attached Storage facility which is platform-independent and is accessible throughout the campus.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) recruited a total of 1,304 students in its campus recruitment conducted at Sastra University near here on Monday and Tuesday. “This success is because of the efforts of TCS and the university in ensuring high levels of recruitment productivity without compromising on quality,” said V. Badrinath, director of Placements, Sastra University. More than 350 students have already been placed in product companies such as PayPal, Amazon, Zoho, Freshdesk, MuSigma, Chargebee, Thorogood, Microsoft, Latentview and Rockwell with an average pay of Rs. six lakh.
The TCS has also recruited nine students in the product category with a salary of Rs. 6.5 lakh per annum for niche services in Research and Digital Innovations labs.

Admission to the B.Tech. / 5-year Integrated M.Tech. programmes will be conducted under two streams.
Stream 1 (based on JEE(Main) 2014 and +2 Marks) for 70% of seats
Stream 2 (based on +2 marks) for 30% of seats
All the applicants will be eligible for both the streams and there is no need to submit two separate application forms. Normalization of +2 (or its equivalent) total marks: To bring all candidates from different examining authorities/ boards in the same scale of comparison and to create a list in the order of merit, the +2 or its equivalent total marks will be normalized. A first rank student of each board is considered to have obtained 100% mark and aggregate mark of all other students of the board is normalized with reference to that of the first rank student.

The Psg College Of Technology will announce the result of the engineering entrance examination on the official website. The candidates will be able to check it by clicking on the link here and entering the Registration Number and Date of Birth in the JEE Main 2020 result portal.
The result will state the score and the merit of the candidate. The score will be determined as per the marking scheme of the examination, whereas, the merit will be calculated on the basis of the secured marks.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2020 will regulate the common counselling for admissions to 92 Participating Institutes of JEE Main 2019. The main purpose of JoSAA is to provide a single online platform for the candidates to apply in the Participating Institutes of JEE Main 2020 across the country. Admissions to 31 NITs, 22 IITs, ISM Dhanbad, 20 IIITs and 18 Other Government funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) will be done through the JoSAA 2020. The Counselling of JEE Main 2020 will be held in 6 rounds.
