Following the landmark Maternal and Child Care Centre launch at Vedapatti, Coimbatore in 1961, PSG Trust opened new vistas in medical education with the launch of “PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research“ in September 1985. The Prime objective of the Central Library is to provide a wide range of current, accurate and authoritative information from a vast selection of print and electronic resources to foster scholarly education, research and informational needs of the user. The Central Library has a sprawling space of 39604 sq.ft distributed in 3 floors in exclusive Library block. here are over 25000 text and reference books spanning all the disciplines of medicine and research. The library subscribes to 440 Indian and International Journals (print and online inclusive) The Library works on all days from 8 a.m to 12 p.m (Midnight). The Library remains open on all national and local public holidays
The PSG Hospitals is supported by very well-equipped, modern labs for Clinical Pathology, Haematology, Biochemistry and Microbiology. These labs are equipped with some of the latest fully computerized state of the art equipments which ensure accuracy and dependability of the investigations done. This in turn contributes significantly to efficient patient management. In addition to the routine tests, facilities are available for the the measurement of arterial blood gases, endocrine parameters, diagnosis of bleeding disorders and haemolytic anaemias. The Department of Microbiology is equipped to diagnose many of the common as well as rare infections and autoimmune diseases.
