PSG College of Technology<\/strong>\u00a0is an autonomous, government aided, privateengineering college\u00a0in\u00a0Coimbatore,\u00a0India. It is affiliated to\u00a0Anna University. The college offers a total of 48 full-time and part-time programs in Science, Engineering and Management at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The college was founded in 1951 by\u00a0Dr.G.R.Damodaran\u00a0as the first private engineering institution established in\u00a0Tamil Nadu. It is affiliated to PSG & Sons Charities Trust.<\/p>\n

PSG Industrial institute was established in 1926 by\u00a0PSG and Sons Charities\u00a0inPeelamedu,\u00a0Coimbatore. The engineering college was started in the institute campus in 1951 by\u00a0Dr. G.R.Damodaran, who became its first principal.\u00a0The college was conferred autonomous status by\u00a0University of Madras\u00a0in 1978, which was continued by the\u00a0Bharathiar University\u00a0and subsequently by\u00a0Anna University\u00a0since 2001.<\/p>\n

Facilities:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Freedom and Flexibility<\/strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0 Women’s Hostel offers flexibility and freedom for Students and Individuals. Each room offers study table & chairs, fan, Purit purified water system, intercom phone, wardrobes and neatly done bed with attached toilet-bathroom and dressing area. Furnished house offers neatly done bed; Purit purified water system, intercom phone, TV, sofa sets, dining table, wardrobes and fans with study area, toilet-bathroom and dressing area. Inmates staying in rooms can view TV in the common area and is comfortably placed in the centre of the premises.<\/p>\n

Hostel:<\/h3>\n

PSG Tech hostel was established on 27 February 1958. The hostels accommodates about 4300 students in 14 blocks named from A to N of which 5 blocks dedicated to women. There are five student dining halls, an auditorium, a library, a computer center and a guest house attached to the hostels. The G3 block of the hostel is comparatively habitable. The other blocks are badly maintained and are not habitable.<\/p>\n

Symposiums<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Since 2005, the college conducts an international techno-management festival called\u00a0Kriya. Every year in February, PSG also plays host to Renaissance, a two-day inter-collegiate cultural festival. Intrams is the intra-college cultural festival which is conducted in September.<\/p>\n

Nano biotechnology laboratory:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The nanobiotechnology laboratory is equipped with facilities like electrophoresis systems, class II biosafety cabinet, high speed refrigerated centrifuge, incubator shaker with refrigeration facility, phase contrast microscope with photographic attachments and gel documentation system. This facility aims to explore biological nano materials and ‘green’ chemistry methods towards nanoparticle synthesis for specific applications.<\/p>\n
