Anna University is a technical university in Tamil Nadu, India, 2020 Admissions started. The main university campus is located in Guindy, Chennai. It was named after C N Annadurai, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on 4 September 1978. It became an affiliating university in 2001, absorbing all engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. On 14 September 2011, the constituents were merged back to a single affiliating university for engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu.The Government of Tamil Nadu established the Anna University of Technology on 4 September 1978 through Tamil Nadu Act 30 of 1978. The new university was formed from the erstwhile University of Madras faculty of engineering and technology and consisted of four institutes namely College of Engineering, Guindy, Alagappa College of Technology, Madras Institute of Technology and School of Architecture and Planning. In 1982, the name current name “Anna University” was adopted.In 2001, under the Anna University Amendment Act of 2001, the university became an affiliating university, taking under its wings all the engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. This included six government engineering colleges, three government-aided private institutions, and 426 self-financing colleges.
Equipping students and faculty alike with Internet services, CEG houses specialized computing centre to satisfy all the computational and technological requirements. With high end computing nodes and other advanced laboratories, the computing centres provides enhanced facilities to the students. In addition to this, is a knowledge data centre, aims to promote excellence in teaching, research and governance by providing software and technology resources.
The CEG Library provides students with access to a vast collection of books and journals, in the order of over 1.5 lakh, and digital learning services. The library also offers access to a range of exclusive e-books and e-journals, which can be accessed in the library through the Digital Knowledge Centre.Besides the central library, the various academic departments have their own libraries that expand the availability of department-specific books available to their students.
With experienced doctors and staff on call, aided by modern lab equipments, CEG’s Health Centre is equipped to handle the medical needs of the students. Consultation is free for all the students and employees. Additionally, an ambulance service is available to attend to emergencies. The health centre is also responsible for conducting comprehensive health checks for the benefit of the students of CEG.

The campus placement activities for more than 3000 students belonging to engineering/management departments are regularly carried out for improved performance and placement probability. The Centre for University and Industrial collaboration (CUIC/Placement cell) provides the infra-structural facilities to conduct group discussions, tests and interviews besides catering to other logistics. The Office interacts with many industries in the country, of which nearly 200 companies visit the campus for holding campus interviews.

B.Arch Degree Admission:
Candidates having passed 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination with 50% marks as aggregate. , having Mathematics as a subject of study and obtained 80 marks out of 200 in NATA(National Aptitude Test for Architecture) test in any one of the attempt.

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) was conducted by Anna University previously. But from the few years there will be no entrance exam for admission in various engineering colleges. The candidates will get the admission on the basis of their class XII percentage. The candidates who are meeting the eligibility criteria will be eligible for the undergraduate courses offered by the various engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu. In this article we are providing the information about TNEA 2020.

The application form of TNEA 2020 will be available only in online mode. After filling in the online registration of TNEA application form 2020, the candidate will have to send printout of the completed online application in person or by post to:

The application form must be accompanied by photocopies of relevant certificates and photographs and must reach the above mentioned address on or before the last date. The registration fee must be paid only online. Candidates must pay the registration fee as per the category they belong to, or else their applications will be rejected.
When filling the application form of TNEA 2020, care must be taken to enter only genuine information. The TNEA application form 2020 will include fields like education details and personal details. Also, when uploading any documents, the candidate must conform to the prescribed format.
The admission into engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu will be based on class 12th Percentage. Candidates, those scores good marks in 10+2 examination, the priority will be given to them. On the basis of 12th percentage, the authority will release rank list. The TNEA Results/rank list will be published in the 4th week of June 2020. Candidates will get admission in the engineering Institution on the basis of the merit list.
The counselling of TNEA 2020 will be carried out according to merit and category-wise reservation of seats. Higher ranked candidates will be called for counselling of TNEA 2020 first and have more options to choose from. Candidates can pick their choices of branches and colleges from the available options at the time of counselling. Counselling will be held in offline mode and the candidate has to be present in person. If the candidate is unable to attend counselling for some unavoidable reasons, the parent of the candidate is allowed to attend counselling on behalf of the candidate.
Candidates who get shortlisted for counselling of TNEA 2020 have to pay the counselling fee either through Cash or DD. On the day of counselling, the candidate must also bring along originals of all relevant documents.…
